I can't really add anything new to the other reviews.
I've seen these in the Asian market in town for years, and finally decided to save up and get one. The price was a little intimidating even though on-line reviews raved about them. I don't regret the purchase at all.
In short, it's a great device designed by a Japanese (who know rice) company with long experience in making household products.
I LOVE IT! No more burnt rice, gelatinous rice, gooey rice, hard white lump that in theory is rice, etc. that comes from me cooking rice in a pan on the stove.
The soaking stage (which adds to the cooking time) was a bit of a mystery, but I figured out the key to not complaining about the cooking time. Get the rice going FIRST (a one-minute action), then get out the veggies and chicken and wok. By the time that's ready, rice is ready.
What I love the most is being able to throw in rice and water just before going to bed, then waking up to hot rice. Add milk, cinnamon, and a touch of sugar for a great breakfast. Get more detail about Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 5-1/2-Cup Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker and Warmer, Premium White.
